An effective whey protein supplement that high on the price side
- Taste decent, I saw results but I had a nasty side effect, smelly farts. Maybe it was just me alone.
- You can’t go wrong with the flavoring and it mixes well too.
Duration length of product testing: 4 weeks
When bodybuilding legend Arnold teamed up with MusclePharm to develop a series of supplements carrying his name, it was an indication that their values resonated with his. As a strong advocate for health and fitness, Arnold foresaw a series of products that would help further his message. Iron Whey is one of the products, and like the others in the line, it carries more than just the name of a sublime bodybuilder.
MP Arnold Series Iron Whey is an all-purpose protein blend that is built on a protein matrix consisting of whey hydrolysate, concentrate and isolate, an amino acid matrix consisting of BCAAs, Glutamine and Glycine, and other glucose polymers.
Taste and Mixability
Iron Whey is available in Vanilla and Chocolate flavors. It tastes good in either flavors and does not leave any undesirable aftertastes. It also mixes well with water or skim milk. There is no observable frothing, and no residues are left behind. You do not necessarily need to blend it as it only requires a vigorous shake to be uniformly mixed.
Iron Whey is not the most affordable whey protein supplement in the market. Perhaps it is because it carries the name of an iconic bodybuilder. Or it could be MP’s ambitions of growth. Either way, Iron Whey is on the pricier side of things, with the 5lb tub costing a little over $50.
The product does live up to its hype. With each serving containing 22g of protein, 6g of fat and 120 calories, it provides just enough protein to keep your body satiated. You can take the supplement from one to three times a day, depending on your training intensity and your size. Iron Whey does indeed support lean muscle development, increase nitrogen retention for muscle protein synthesis and promote muscle recovery.
You can easily be swayed by the product because Arnold endorses it. But if you are going to buy Iron Whey, do so for the additional help it lends you on your quest to achieve an even better physique. The price is its biggest shortcoming, but if you shop around, you can get it for discounted prices. Since it contains BCAAs, it removes the need of having a standalone supplement for the same.
Protein remains unchallenged as the king of all bodybuilding supplements. This Arnold Series Whey Protein will provide the macronutrient in its most comprehensive form. It is worth a try.
