Add quality gains to your physique with this Whey Isolate
- While I had good gains consuming this, the taste to me is not to my liking.
- It has a thick-chalky taste to it. Even diluting it with more fluids, I still can’t get used to the taste.
- If you’re taking this supp, I recommend you dilute it with other than water, to mask the taste.
Duration length of product testing: 2 weeks
The quest for more muscle mass is one that has enjoyed generous support from MuscleTech, easily one of the most recognized brands in the industry. The “Six Star Whey Isolate Plus” is one of their newer offerings designed for those who want to fuel their muscle gains. It is the same product as before, but its look has been updated a bit, as well as its container. Whey protein is considered the gold standard when it comes to protein supplementation. MuscleTech has developed Multiphase Filtration technology to increase the purity of the whey you get. It comes in a 2.56lbs compact container with roughly 18 servings.
What Makes It Better?
The ‘Six Star Whey Isolate Plus’ contains micro filtered whey protein and milk protein isolates that are low in fat and lactose. They are formulated into a supplement that offers 12.8g of branched chain amino acids or BCAAs, 6g of leucine, and 12g of Glutamine, per serving. It boasts a greater biological value than whey concentrate as it has a higher profile of amino acids. Designed to be a post-workout supplement, it is also low in sugar and cholesterol and contains zero Trans fats.
It is available in various decadent tasty flavors. The ultra-filtration process is not only meant to reduce the ingredients that you might not like, like fats, but also improve on the miscibility characteristics of the product. It easily mixes in any beverage when stirred, and does not require a shaker bottle to achieve that even consistency. As far as serving goes, you can also blend it with ice or juice to make a smoothie. “American Masters of Taste” awarded the product a “gold medal” for taste and the award is justified as it is delectable.
Ideally, it should be consumed as a pre-workout, post-workout supplement, or between meals. One to two servings per day is the recommended intake, depending on the level of activity. As the product is designed with athletes and bodybuilders in mind, it pairs nicely with an intensive workout schedule.
Efficiency of the product is rather subjective, and depends on such variables as workout frequency and intensity, as well as other supplements used. However, in designing Six Star Whey Isolate Plus, MuscleTech did conduct real-life tests and discovered that it helps in lean muscle gains after a couple of weeks. With two scoops offering up to 60g of protein that is easily digested and absorbed, results would be easy to come by with intensive weight training.
While it is not the cheapest supplement in its class, it does contain more glutamine as well as BCAAs per serving than alternatives. Glutamine is an important amino acid that aids in muscle function, while BCAAs promote muscle growth.
