The body works tirelessly to ensure glucose levels remain within the normal limits. The levels drop after a short period of fasting, while they rise one to two hours after a meal. Insulin is the hormone that is responsible for regulating blood glucose. Secreted by the pancreas, insulin helps body cells take up circulating glucose to fuel different cellular processes. Excess glucose is converted to glycogen which is typically stored in the muscles for future use.
Glucose, Insulin and Bodybuilding
Glucose is one of the most important compounds in the body. It is the raw energy that provides sustenance to the body and its complex organ systems. Pre-workout meals are encouraged so that a steady supply of glucose can be had to provide fuel for an intense workout.
Sipping on a glucose supplement during workouts, such as Glucolin Glucose dissolved in water, has been demonstrated to improve exercise efficiency and endurance. By providing a readily absorbable source of glucose, the body is able to better handle the stresses imposed upon it.
Supplementing with Glucolin has other advantages. The profuse glucose that it delivers to the body leads to an insulin spike. This increase compels the muscle cells to take up the excess glucose. Amino acids are also consequently pushed into the cells, and this stimulates muscle protein synthesis. Insulin also has certain anabolic effects which should be exploited by all those looking to gain muscle mass.
Glucolin Glucose is designed to be fast-absorbing, and so, should result in that spike rather quickly. However, this spike should not be forced very regularly, as insulin also has other lipogenic effects that may not be so desirable.
If you need something to sip throughout your workout, but don’t have any complex supplements available, Glucolin Glucose is good. The consistent supply of glucose it gives ensures your muscles don’t run out of the stuff.
